When gathering for the holidays, there are many options in San Diego that satisfies all appetites.

Thanksgiving Buffet – When you want a little bit of everything, go the buffet route. And there’s no better time to go buffet-style than at Thanksgiving. Estancia La Jolla offers a Thanksgiving Day Buffet from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Dishes include traditional honey thyme-glazed turkey, prime rib, chilled seafood and much more. The buffet includes two glasses of sparkling wine, mimosas or signature cocktails. Cost: $75 adults, $35 kids.

Jingle Roast – Children and adults alike will enjoy making memories on the Hotel Del beachfront with the magical beach bonfire. From December 15-26, cozy up to a private fireside s’mores party with hot dogs and Santa hats. Cost: $125/hour with options to add menu items. Reservations required.

Holiday Tea Anyone – Afternoon tea is a lovely “snack” any day. During the holidays, Shakespeare’s Corner Shoppe offers a special themed Christmas Afternoon Tea from December 1 through New Year’s Day. The special menu includes six savouries and six sweets. The featured tea is Christmas Spice, a black tea with warm cinnamon and tangy citrus – you can feel the holiday warmth down your throat. Each guest receives a British Christmas Cracker too! Cost: $29.95 per person.

Tamale Tradition – In many San Diego families, the making of tamales is an annual gathering tradition. But if you’d rather eat than make, then go to a favorite spot where lines form all day for those in the know. No website, just go line up and delight your taste buds. Marine Room Views – Something about dining with a view that makes any meal special. The Marine Room is literally right on the La Jolla surf. They offer special menus throughout the holidays – Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve. Also, throughout November and December, special High Tide breakfasts are scheduled – a delight for all ages as waves crash onto the glass enclosed dining room!

An American Christmas – Travel back to 1915 for a holiday feast and celebration. Many San Diego families come back year after year to be part of the memorable event put on by the Lamb’s Players Theatre. Held at the U.S. Grant Hotel from December 14-24, guests enjoy a 4-course meal in the grand Presidential Ballroom, champagne toast, music, dance, story, song and laughter! This festive evening will create iconic memories for everyone in your fam. Cost: $152+.
