La Jolla Shores
TravelHost celebrates 50 years of bringing EAT, SHOP, and PLAY information to travelers all over the United States. In honor of those 50 years, I decided to give our TravelHost San Diego readers my tips on spending $50 and less in area neighborhoods. I’ll start with La Jolla Shores, my family’s nearest neighborhood.
My breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites include: Caroline’s Seaside Café (http://grnfc.com/carolines/), Mediterranean Egg Scramble – feta, tomatoes, basil, served with choice of fruit or potatoes and toast $9.50, small hot chocolate $2.50 = $12, Galaxy Taco (http://www.galaxytaco.com), Tacos – Baja Fried Fish and Carnitas, $5.50 each, Pineapple Agua Fresca $4.75 = $15.75, Barbarella (http://barbarellarestaurant.com/contact/), Fettucine Bolognese – my comfort food with a meaty ragu sauce, shaved reggiano and fresh basil, $18.95, glass of milk (yes, I order milk at restaurants) $3 = $21.95. Total = $49.70
Everyday California - www.everydaycalifornia.com, You can find items that yell out SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. To stay hydrated, get a Brutus Steel M8 Water Bottle $24.95. And to walk around the beaches in that SoCal style buy some Everyday Flip Flops for $24. Total = $48.95

Yes, Everyday California started out providing activities and they still do. Rent a Stand Up Paddleboard (aka SUP), $40 for two hours. They will help transport the boards to the beach and back, and provide tips. SUPs are great for beginners and experienced adventurers. If I can do SUP yoga, anyone can ride one. Everyday California goes out everyday, depending on conditions, at 9:00am, 11:30am, and 2:00pm, for ages 6 and older. Total = $40.
Wow, I even came under budget. Enjoy La Jolla Shores as you EAT, SHOP, PLAY!
