San Diego County is blessed with thriving communities along our beautiful shorelines. The north county beach cities all have their own distinct personalities. Del Mar is our go to when we want to take our four-legged family to the beach and for going to the Race Track & Fairgrounds for the county fair and horse races. Solana Beach is where we shop and listen to live music. Encinitas calms us down with its gardens and spirit. Carlsbad brings out the kid in us at Legoland and for beach camping fun. Oceanside reminds us of our military heritage, plus a burgeoning craft brewing scene.

You’re got to have tacos for lunch in San Diego, and what better place to savor them than the Taco Stand. First opened in La Jolla, they’re now in Encinitas, as well as Downtown San Diego and North Park. Get up to Carlsbad for dinner at Park 101, a family-friendly, indoor-outdoor 8,000 square foot community dining establishment. Park 101 is known for their mouth-watering smoked meats, as well as quick-to-go-choices for your beach picnics. The upper Tamarack Deck is the place to sip an adult beverage while watching the sunset. Every Wednesday they host yoga sessions, and in the evening Movie Night in the Park. Pack an extra bag for your shopping finds along the Cedros District in Solana Beach (ShopCedros.com). Leaping Lotus is a vast marketplace with mini-shops (LeapingLotus.com).
