Marie Hitchcock Puppet Center
The Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theater has long been a mecca for children and is located in beautiful historic Balboa Park, San Diego California. The Puppet Theater was originally part of the California Pacific International Exposition in 1935. The Exposition was organized to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal. The theater still runs weekly live performances for thousands of guests each year. San Diego's Balboa Park Puppet Guild was formed in 2001 with the mission of operating the Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theater. The Guild offers workshops, apprentice opportunities, children's programs and a year round performance schedule offering shows Wednesdays through Sundays. The Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theater is located in the Pan American area of the park where you will also find the San Diego Air & Space Museum and the Automotive Museum.
What makes this business unique? The theater is a 200 seat, indoor theater.
